CEGAIN is a technology incubator sponsored by Alumni Association Situated in College of Engineering, Guindy Campus, Anna University – Chennai, CEGAIN provides start-up incubation support to students and Alumni of CEG.
The space for this incubator is provided by Anna University in CEG Campus and Alumni Association of College of Engineering Guindy (AACEG) has granted the seed fund and start-up assistance to this incubator. The centre would be jointly managed by CEG – CED (Centre for Entrepreneurship Development). In addition to the Incubation Centre, the incubatees can avail all the facilities and support in the campus, such as the lab facilities, guidance from Professors and also engage students are part-time employees. Experts and mentors from among CEG Alumni and others would be available to provide you guidance and mentoring to all the incubatees.
The centre was inaugurated on March 17, 2016.
Aspiring entrepreneurs among students and young alumni are welcome to approach CEGAIN for start-up incubation assistance. CEGAIN provides all the start-up assistance and services required by the student entrepreneurs.

Selection process and services offered:
Step 1: Students should submit formal business plan with the details.
Step 2: A committee of experts would review the application and if the application is found to be interesting and viable – then the applicants would be invited for a screening committee meeting. Otherwise feedback may be provided to improve the plan.
Step 3: Presenting to the screening committee
Step 4: Screening committee’s decision will be communicated.
Step 5: Selected Incubatee would be invited for a induction discussion
Step 6: Agreement for incubation would be signed between CEGAIN and the incubatee company with agreed terms and conditions of incubation.
Step 7: Incubatee Company would be inducted for incubation. Step 8: Mentors engagement
Step 9: Incubation process starts Step 10: Maturation / Exit.
Business Plan Details :
Students and Alumnus of CEG can apply for incubation of their start-up at CEGAIN formally presenting their business plan.

The steps and process of application is as below
The applicants for incubation should submit the following details formally to the Director of CED:
Name and contact details of the Entrepreneurs Product or Service Details
Unique feature or innovation content of the idea Market Segment to be targeted.
Technology Development plan and feasibility Resources Required
Support expected from Incubator Financial Plan and Sources of Finance
Marketing Plan – Test marketing and expansion A note about competitors.
Promoters background and experience, if any, relevant to the business proposed. Status of Intellectual properties created owned and patent etc.
This document may be condensed as a Presentation and can be used for presenting the same to the screening committee.
Screening Committee meeting takes places twice in a month. Depending on the number of applicants, the applicants would be invited for presentation.
Screening Committee’s decision would be final. Candidates who were not selected would be encouraged to present revised or different plan to be eligible for incubation.
Incubatee Selection Committee
The role of the Incubatee Selection Committee will be to screen applications received for incubation at CEGAIN. The selection committee would convene a screening committee meeting and the applicants would be asked to present their business plan for evaluation and approval. The selection committee would select the eligible applicants for incubation.
